auto update scripts
create some sort of an updater and check for updates for our installed scripts

i like :))))
I don't know what ancient version of Greasemonkey you are using but automatic updating of scripts has been present since Greasemonkey 0.9.12 and forward... well before the other clones. :)

Google chromes tampermonkey has the auto updater. Firefoxes greasemonkey can't do that so far unfortunatelly :(
But even if there was an external updater, I wouldn't use it.
This will work with scripts as well

There are already scripts to check for updates.
This one I use and it works fine:
Basically, a manual update would call the script like this:
and you would put this at the end of your script to access the function (which only asks once a day automatically):
Just play with the variable - too easy :)
i get a message saying DONT PANIC but the script you want does not exist on a youtube description on right side
I think a notification-message with perhaps the option to update would be the best solution.
Then there is no force to update but an easy possibility
Let me vote no to this. ;p
I want an auto-update blocking system so that one cannot shower the userscripts.org any more (which breaks it down and we now can't upload anything screen shots etc.).
