Implement some form of "deprecated" tag for old scripts

Some scripts may no longer work but can be of use to some people for coding or interest reasons. Since a majority of users won't want to install such a script, there should be some way of unlisting a script without actually removing it.

    I definately agree!

Maybe it's possible to automatically tag a script after X months without updates and mail the scriptwriter to change this status. If the writer do nothing the script is at least unmaintained.

Who or what is going to decide that a script is deprecated? Via a flagging system? Would be a lot of work and it doesn't seem like there are enough people to deal with flaggings as it is.

It should be up to the script's author to inform people when it's out of date, but since not all will do this, a simple comment underneath by someone firmly stating it's dead will do in most cases.

I put 3 votes on this.
I really really REALLY HATE install a script only to discover it's too old to work ...
