There are already scripts to check for updates.
This one I use and it works fine:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/20145Basically, a manual update would call the script like this:
updateCheck(true);and you would put this at the end of your script to access the function (which only asks once a day automatically):
updateCheck();Just play with the variable - too easy :)

i get a message saying DONT PANIC but the script you want does not exist on a youtube description on right side

I think a notification-message with perhaps the option to update would be the best solution.
Then there is no force to update but an easy possibility -

Let me vote no to this. ;p
I want an auto-update blocking system so that one cannot shower the userscripts.org any more (which breaks it down and we now can't upload anything screen shots etc.). -
